Shanna Lourine

I’m Shanna and I appreciate you stopping by! My love for baking started when I was 8 years old. My mother let me sign up for a project of my choice at the St. Joseph county fair in Indiana. I loved cake, as any 8 year old would, so I decided on cake decorating. I enjoyed cake decorating as a hobby for 10 years. During high school, I thought I wanted to be a graphic designer until I was approached by someone I knew to create a graduation cake for their family member. After that, requests for custom orders started coming in! At the time, the only options to order custom cakes were from retail grocery stores.

I decided to pursue my higher education at Sullivan University where I had the opportunity to work for some amazing chefs and bakers from around the world. The Head of the Culinary and Hospitality department was a former Chef for the Queen of England! He was the chef who baked and decorated Princess Anne’s Wedding Cake! I graduated with an Associates in the Science of Baking and Pastry Arts in 2013. In 2015 I became the head baker at Holy Cross College in my hometown, Notre Dame, IN. Since then I have pursued my passion for baking by creating custom cakes, delicious pastries and all sorts of tasty treats for the Michiana area.
